Position Summary
Sharpen is seeking a detail-oriented and driven Staff Accountant to take ownership of our client billing operations, month-end close procedures, and other ad-hoc project as necessary. This role is ideal for someone with a strong background in accounting who thrives on accuracy, process improvement, and clear communication. You will be responsible for maintaining customer invoicing and ensuring proper revenue recognition in a fast-paced SaaS / CCaaS environment.

Key Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end client invoicing process, including generation, delivery, reconciliation, revenue recognition, and customer follow-up
- Review and analyze customer contracts to ensure proper revenue recognition in compliance with ASC 606
- Reconcile bank statements, general ledger accounts, and subsidiary ledgers
- Assist with audit preparations and providing documentation to auditors
- Identify and suggest improvements to billing workflows and system efficiency
- Close Process : Timely and accurate completion of assignments including journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statement analysis.
- Ad Hoc Projects : Assist with other accounting and finance tasks as assigned including research projects and system implementations
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field2-3 years of experience in an accounting or billing-focused role (or a Master's degree in Accounting)Experience with Big 4 accounting firms is a plusStrong understanding of GAAP, ASC 606, and other billing best practicesProficient in online accounting platforms (e.g., QuickBooks, NetSuite, or similar)Previous experience in a SaaS or recurring revenue business preferredFamiliarity with automated billing systems & implementations is a plusExceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and customer service mindsetAbility to work both independently and as part of a cross-functional teamWhy Join Sharpen?
