We are seeking a licensed professional Senior Civil Engineer with Environmental / Regulatory experience to support a wide variety of civil engineering and environmental projects for a Mississippi Gulf Coast-based engineering firm. Experience in the processes of design, permitting, and construction management in a variety of private and public market sectors as well as environmental experience related to environmental compliance audits, regulatory compliance, due diligence assessments (individual and portfolio opportunities), and / or environmental remediation is important. The Senior Civil Engineer will primarily be responsible for design, development and management of general civil and environmental related projects including roadway and site design, underground utilities, water and wastewater systems, stormwater management, and as well as environmental / regulatory project types.
Responsibilities :
- Prepare and manage technical delivery of design plans, specifications, and design-related documents for civil engineering related projects.
- Prepare and manage technical delivery of investigations, designs including drawings and specifications, and construction support for environmental remediation projects.
- Perform a variety of field work including environmental assessments, investigations, site inspections, sampling, and subcontractor oversight.
- Preparation of permit applications and compliance plans (e.g., SWPPP, SPCC, etc).
- Develop and maintain site subject matter expert level of expertise on assigned regulations (including MACT, NSPS, NESHAP, Title V, PSD, RSR, EPCRA, etc.)
- Construction duties may include oversight of civil and environmental aspects related to environmental or construction projects.
- General tasks may include management of projects including schedule and budget, client interaction, data analyses and interpretation of field and analytical data, and technical report preparation and review.
- Other duties as assigned.
Professional Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or Environmental Engineering, or related discipline.7+ years of experience with technical and / or field work.PE license required.Technical remediation experience and writing skills.Knowledge of the application of remediation technologies for groundwater, surface water, soil, and sediment environmental impacts under RCRA, CERCLA, TSCA, Title V, UST, and Brownfield regulatory programs.Ability to work on multiple tasks and assignments simultaneously and assist in the preparation of reports, plans and designs for projects.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Proficient in the Microsoft Office suite of products.Experience with design related software including AutoCAD Civil 3D, ESRI GIS or similar types of design software.Covington Civil and Environmental, LLC is an equal opportunity employer.
