There is a focus of at least 25% in an advanced discipline such as CT, MR, Nuc Med, or IR. The position involves working with both ambulatory and hospital patients as requested by a licensed provider. This role includes performing high-quality multimodality procedures according to established exam protocols. The technologist maintains production and quality of imaging procedures by following set standards and procedures. Understanding of radiation dose levels and monitoring is essential. Actions to be taken if estimated doses exceed reference levels must be demonstrated. The role includes using point of care testing for obtaining creatinine levels. Utilizing effective communication techniques when interacting with patients is required. The technologist prepares the patient and area for procedures by positioning the patient appropriately. Strict adherence to safety requirements, infection control, and radiation policies is crucial. Maintaining equipment and work areas to meet cleanliness standards is expected. The technologist will assist in managing supplies and reporting equipment issues. Verification and maintenance of all relevant documentation, including patient history and procedures, is necessary. The role requires maintaining medical imaging records according to department policies. A commitment to customer service and maintaining a professional demeanor is essential. The ability to serve as a preceptor for training new team members is a valuable asset. Being able to take call if required is necessary for the role.
