Position Summary
The Senior Supplier Quality Engineer will serve as a leader within the Supplier Quality team and act as a subject matter expert on Supplier Quality processes. This role involves mentoring junior team members and contributing to the strategic vision and execution of long-term supplier quality initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
Manage all aspects of supplier quality performance, including corrective actions, risk reduction, and new product development support.
Lead initiatives to improve internal quality processes and drive continuous improvement in the supply chain.
Develop and deliver supplier training materials, providing guidance to help suppliers grow with the organizations evolving needs.
Collaborate with Engineering, Purchasing, and Suppliers to establish qualification criteria and execute supplier quality plans, including first article inspections (FAIs).
Improve supplier part quality and quality systems while working on projects that aim to reduce the need for incoming inspection by pushing quality upstream.
Evaluate, qualify, and manage new suppliers to enhance the value of the supply chain network.
Track and report supplier performance metrics, driving continuous improvement initiatives with assigned suppliers.
Partner with Engineering teams to ensure technical requirements are clearly understood by suppliers.
Analyze and present quality data during supplier strategic business reviews.
Lead investigations into supplier or component performance issues, identifying root causes and implementing corrective / preventive actions.
Conduct supplier audits and manage associated corrective action plans.
Travel to supplier facilities (domestic and international) to assess and improve their processes and capabilities.
Collaborate across internal departments to ensure overall business objectives are achieved.

Quality Engineering
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or a related technical field required; MBA or Masters preferred.
5-7 years of experience in supplier quality, general quality, engineering, or manufacturing with a proven track record.
Project management experience using MS Project is a plus.
Lead Auditor Certification preferred.
Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification preferred.
Key Skills and Competencies
Proven ability to work across multiple departments (e.g., purchasing, engineering, manufacturing).
Strong verbal and written communication skills, with an ability to convey technical information to internal and external audiences.
Familiarity with various manufacturing processes, especially electronics and mechanical assembly.
Deep understanding of quality management systems and standards.
Ability to interpret technical drawings and specifications (electrical and mechanical).
Proficient with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
Experience using statistical analysis tools for process capability, measurement systems, DOE, and process control.
Self-starter with a resourceful and independent work ethic.
Willingness and ability to travel up to 30%, including internationally.
