Our employees are not only part of history, they're making history. Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is seeking a Systems Engineering Manager 2 - Integration and Logistics IPT Lead. This position is located in Huntsville, AL and supports the Nuclear-Armed Sea-Launched Cruise Missile program. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
This position is a dual-role manager position, involving balancing both the overall functional oversight and management of a Systems Engineering group of up to 10 engineers while maintaining a technical baseline of performance on program work. In addition to program responsibilities (80%) the selected candidate will manage a team of systems engineers (20%). Functional management involves, but is not limited to, organizational administrative activities and helping employees' performance and career development through guidance and training. The direct program responsibilities will be dependent upon programmatic technical work.

This positions standard work schedule is a 9 / 80. The 9 / 80 schedule allows employees who work a nine-hour day Monday through Thursday to take every other Friday off. This role may offer a competitive relocation assistance package.
You'll bring these qualifications : Bachelor's degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) with 6+ years of related technical experience. At least 1 year experience leading a project and / or driving performance against schedule. Must have experience leading a technical team. At least 1 year experience of Control Account Management (CAM) and Earned Value Management (EVM). 2+ years of experience with Systems Engineering Lifecycle, in any of the following systems engineering domains : requirements development, systems architecture, verification planning, and interface definition experience. Must be a US Citizen with active U.S. Government DoD Secret security clearance at time of application, with an investigation completed within the last 6 years, with the ability to obtain a U.S. Government DoD Top Secret / SCI security clearance.
These qualifications would be nice to have : Master's degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM) discipline or higher. Active Top Secret / SCI clearance current and within scope. Proven ability to deliver effective communication verbally, written, and through well-crafted presentations across all levels of an organization. Ability to demonstrate independent creative thinking and problem-solving capabilities. Manage multiple projects concurrently in meeting customer requirements / expectations. Experience and working knowledge of US Navy submarine or strategic weapons programs. Experience and working knowledge of Cruise Missiles. Experience performing customer directed trade studies. Proficiency in driving programmatic battle rhythm. Customer-focused mindset with proven leadership skills and excellent communication skills. Primary level salary range : $149,400.00 - $224,000.00.
