Security Business Unit Analyst
Georgia Power's Corporate Security Department is made up of a small group of dedicated team members. The team organizes its work around three primary functions : operations, investigations and compliance. This position will reside within the Operations section. It will be the single point of security contact, providing security consultation and education to customers, advising on security matters, making recommendations and influencing security-related decisions. It recommends and implements security strategies and procedures that protect people, intellectual information and physical assets; support recovery of business functionality; and position the business to meet its operating goals. It will conduct vulnerability assessments and make recommendations for security-related improvements. It will maintain effective relationships with law enforcement, external Corporate Security organizations, and other outside resources. While this position is posted in the Operations section of Corporate Security, successful applicants should have the willingness and ability to work successfully across all functions of Corporate Security's scope of operations as needed or as individual career development or departmental needs dictate.

Technical / Functional Knowledge :
Technical proficiency of Closed-Circuit Television (CCTV) systems
General security knowledge and skills, including asset protection, investigations, standards, executive security, emergency preparedness and response
Knowledgeable of Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) and Access Control systems
Analytical skills for trend, vulnerability, risk, and benchmarking analyses
Knowledge of trends and best practices in Corporate Security
Knowledge of and skills in security risk management
Bachelor's degree or higher in Criminal Justice, Law, Business or a related field preferred
Prior Corporate Security, law enforcement or military experience preferred
Professional credentials such as CPP, PSP, CFE or similar

Knowledge of and ability to manage contract security services providers
A well-developed network of professional contacts in local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies, as well as other corporate security departments

Knowledge of Generation Security and systems is preferred
Applicants must successfully pass a pre-employment background investigation and physical, psychological evaluations & firearms qualification.
Ability to be licensed by the Georgia Board of Private Detectives and Security Agencies.
Ability to successfully qualify with a semi-automatic handgun and shotgun on the Georgia Power Corporate Security firearms course.
Ability and willingness to respond immediately, alone or as part of a Corporate Security team, in an armed capacity (company issued firearm) using necessary force to neutralize threats to the life of self or others in life threatening situations such as active shooter event.
Ability to travel up to 50% of the time as needed.
Available to work security details during storm restoration, including out-of-state assignments for extended periods of time.
Serve as a single point of contact and provide security support and expertise for Georgia Power's business units statewide, including a large customer service organization.
Develop strategies that are professionally designed and implemented so as to protect employees, intellectual property, and physical assets as well as critical business processes.
Conduct security vulnerability assessments of company facilities.
Develop and implement security solutions in a timely, collaborative and innovative manner that supports the needs of Corporate Security's business unit customers.
Manage customer demands for service through third-party providers and alternative service delivery channels.
Work closely with the Supply Chain organization during the procurement process for security services, to include pre-bid activities, scope of work, proposal reviews and contractor awarded projects.
Conduct security awareness training for customers such as mock robbery training.
Functionally cross-train with other team members so as to enhance bench strength of the Georgia Power Corporate Security team and ensure seamless operations at the highest standards of excellence across all aspects of Georgia Power Corporate Security's mission to protect the company's personnel, physical and intellectual property, reputation and other assets.
In addition to normal project management duties, this position also supports our various Generation Security functions from a physical and electronic security perspective. Duties include but are not limited to :
Building and maintaining relationships with Plant Management and Site contacts.
Performing and documenting annual FERC security assessments of Hydro and Fossil sites.
Providing site support and maintenance for the electronic security devices that fall outside of the onsite Generation Security scope.
Providing security project management, oversight and design of all existing and new generation project builds across a wide range of sites (Renewable and Generation Expansion, Battery Energy Storage Systems, Solar, etc.).
Provide additional ad-hoc support as needed.
Serves as the liaison with Generation / Power Delivery Project managers for our integrators to assist with proper installation and service support for any installation or service to support our facilities.
Address complex challenges with creative and effective solutions, often involving multiple stakeholders.
Reporting Relationship :
Reports to the Infrastructure Protection Security Manager of Georgia Power Corporate Security, along with other Security Business Unit Analysts.
This position has been identified as a role that will require the use of a Georgia Power fleet vehicle. The following will be required if you are selected for this position :
Must have at least one year of verifiable driving experience (Must hold a valid driver's license for the class vehicle to be operated. Driving permits are not typically considered a valid driver's license).
Must have no revocation of driving privileges within the 36 months prior to application, no convictions of major traffic violations (DUI, hit and run, reckless driving, etc.) within the 12 months prior to application, or any pending charges for a major traffic violation at the time of application.
