Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) New Jersey Group Home
Position Summary :
The Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) provides direct behavioral support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities in a group home environment. Under the supervision of a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), the RBT implements individualized behavior intervention plans, assists with daily living activities, and promotes community integration to enhance residents independence and quality of life.
Key Responsibilities :
- Implement behavior support strategies as specified in individualized behavior plans developed by the BCBA.
- Provide direct support and supervision to residents in the group home and during community outings.
- Assist residents with daily living activities, including personal hygiene, meal preparation, medication administration, and transportation to appointments.
- Accurately observe, collect, and document data on resident behaviors and progress.
- Encourage and facilitate participation in recreational and community activities.
- Collaborate with BCBAs, other RBTs, and the residents support networks to ensure consistent and effective implementation of behavior plans.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines set by the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB).
Qualifications :
High school diploma or equivalent required; some positions may prefer or require a bachelors degree in Psychology, Education, Social Work, or a related field.Current RBT certification from the BACB (or willingness to obtain within a specified timeframe; some employers offer paid training).Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and implementing Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) strategies preferred.Strong interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills.Proficiency in data collection and documentation.Reliable transportation, valid drivers license, and car insurance.Ability to pass criminal background checks, drug screenings, and maintain a clean driving record.Compensation & Benefits :
