Job description

JOB SUMMARY :

Performs cashier duties, including making cash transactions, verifying cash drawer, giving change, counting cash receipts and completing cash reports. May also perform general food service work. Maintains sanitation standards in the preparation, service and dining room facilities.

ESSE NTIAL FUNCTIONS

  • Performs sales transactions in a timely fashion.
  • Enters all sales into the cash register to ensure purchases are accurately recorded.
  • Makes change, accepts declining balance cards and other acceptable forms of payment; issues receipts to customers.
  • Follows standard procedures for issuing cash refunds.
  • Interacts with customers and resolves customer complaints in a friendly, service-oriented manner.
  • Responsible for all assigned change funds and cash receipts ensuring that cash drawer is in compliance with overage / shortage standards.
  • Observes customer purchases in the cafe line and differentiates between standard portions.
  • May also replenish condiments, coffee, other beverages and general supplies while maintaining cleanliness of service areas.
  • May also keep pastry case stocked.
  • Ensures compliance with company service standards and inventory and cash control procedures.
  • Ensures compliance with all sanitation, compliance and safety requirements.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

M INIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Follow written and verbal instructions.
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with other employees.
  • High School graduate, or GED required.
  • Must have solid work ethics.
  • Good reading and writing skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communicative skills.
  • 6 months – 1year previous work experience.
  • M INIMUM HIRING STANDARDS

    Must be at least 18 years of age

    Must have a reliable means of communication (i.e., phone)

    Must have a reliable means of transportation (public or private) Must have the legal right to work in the United States

    Must have the ability to speak, read, and write English

    Must have a High School Diploma or GED.

    Must be willing to participate in the Company’s pre-employment screening process, including background investigation, if applicable.

    LICENSURE OR CERTIFICATION

    LANGUAGE SKILLS

    Ability to read and interpret documents such as instructions and procedure manuals. Ability

    to write accurate, Ability to communicate effectively with customers, visitors, vendor representatives, supervisors, managers, employees and client representatives.

    EXPERIENCE

    Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying :

  • One year of experience in a directly related field or in the performance of similar duties and responsibilities.
