Job description

Overview

Realty Specialist GS-1170-11 (Document Examiner) – Fort Worth District, Southwestern Division (SWD), USACE. This position is an internal opportunity (Non-Comp / VIOP) open to current permanent USACE employees.

Duties

  • Serve as a Realty Specialist (Document Examiner) in the Interagency Services Branch, providing expert technical support for researching titles, drafting agreements, performing inspections, and data entry into automated information systems for federal real estate acquisitions for interagency customers.
  • Lead and train teams in the acquisition of federal interests in real property.
  • Plan cradle-to-grave acquisitions of federal real property interests.
  • Negotiate and draft agreements with interested parties.
  • Perform due diligence searches of title and clear encumbrances.
  • Manage federal interests in real property and coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders on real estate matters.
  • Manage schedules and budgets for multidisciplinary teams performing these tasks.
  • Perform property inspections and write scopes of work.
  • Review contract specifications and provide technical consultation on survey, appraisal, and title.
  • Make contacts with landowners, lessors, and tenants as needed.
  • Demonstrate knowledge of mapping and GIS technology for digital processing of geographic spatial data.
  • Travel up to 50% as required by fieldwork in the Fort Worth District.

Other Conditions and Requirements

  • Submit resume in TARP and be prepared to provide a current SF-50 and first / second-level supervisor endorsements upon request.
  • Current permanent USACE GS-11 employees may be reassigned; GS-9 employees may be considered for temporary promotions not to exceed 120 days.
  • Open to CURRENT, PERMANENT USACE EMPLOYEES ONLY. This opportunity is announced through the VIOP program for non-competitive placements; permanent or longer-term promotions must follow USAJOBS or approved merit procedures.
  • All applicants must be U.S. citizens. Male applicants born after December 31, 1959 must register for Selective Service.
  • Direct deposit of pay is required. Temporary Duty (TDY) or business travel up to 50% may be required. PCS relocation incentives may be authorized with residence documentation maintained for the service period.
  • This position may be eligible for situational telework only (not remote).
  • Other notes : salary determined by normal pay setting procedures; TDY costs paid by SWF where applicable; assignment may be permanent or temporary up to 120 days.
