Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an Occupational Therapist with at least 1 year of experience and BLS certification for a diverse rehab services setting using Cerner EMR.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a hospital-based acute rehab services department
  • Care settings include inpatient, swing-bed, assisted living, and outpatient
  • Patient caseload is highly variable based on census and scheduling
  • Common cases include general medical, CVA, hip fractures, post-op THR / TKR, orthopedic injuries, developmental delay, and sensory issues
  • Pediatric patients are seen in the outpatient setting
  • Expected case mix : 40% acute, 40% outpatient, 10% assisted living, 10% swing bed (all variable)
  • 8-hour day shifts with flexible scheduling options including 4x10 or 5x8 shifts
  • No weekend or holiday coverage currently required
  • Cerner Millennium is used for documentation
  • Role involves providing evaluation and treatment across all patient areas as a generalist
  • Support from 2 COTAs and a collaborative rehab team
  • Department-specific orientation provided at start
  • Dress code requires black scrubs or black collared shirt and khaki pants

    • Requirements

  • Current Occupational Therapist license required if applicable
  • Active BLS certification required
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant OT experience
  • Evaluation and treatment skills needed to cover a broad range of patients
  • Illinois OT licensure required
