Scope of Project
This project involves supporting approximately 300+ SQL Server databases, which are in the process of being migrated from SQL Server 2012 to SQL Server 2019. Additionally, high availability solutions are being implemented on a number of systems supported by these databases. There is also an increased use of Reporting Services and Analysis Services implemented in various support systems such as SharePoint, MS System Center, Team Foundation Server, and others. The project also addresses increasing security concerns around these assets.
This position will supplement the current SQL DBA team with production support activities such as OS updates, security updates, etc., and will require activities beyond normal hours. This is expected to be a long-term, ongoing assignment. On-site presence is required; therefore, regional candidates (SC, GA, NC) will be given preferred priority. The candidate will be working in a team environment consisting of 5 database engineers and administrators and will work directly with application developers and the server support team. Excellent oral and written communication skills are required.
