Job Description
Join a patient-centered clinical team collecting and processing blood specimens in a high-volume, regulated environment. You'll deliver excellent donor / patient care, ensure specimen quality, and follow HIPAA / PHI standards at all times.
What you'll do
- Greet, screen, and prepare donors / patients; verify ID and consent; ensure confidentiality.
- Perform venipuncture and capillary collections; monitor donors / patients and respond to adverse reactions.
- Set up, operate, and disconnect collection equipment; dispose of biohazard materials per protocol.
- Label, process, and document specimens accurately (EMR / LIS); maintain chain of custody.
- Inspect and maintain phlebotomy stations, supplies, and PPE; escalate equipment issues.
- Uphold infection control, safety, and quality standards; complete required logs and audits.
- Provide compassionate, professional service; build rapport to support comfort and retention.
Must-have qualifications
High school diploma or GED.MediClear (or equivalent HIPAA certification) required.Superior customer service and communication skills; ability to follow written and verbal instructions.Willingness to work a flexible schedule (including some evenings / weekends / holidays as needed).Nice to have
Phlebotomy certification (e.g., CPT, RPT) and / or prior clinical phlebotomy experience.Familiarity with EMR / EHR / LIS workflows and specimen handling in a regulated setting.Physical & safety requirements
Frequent standing / walking (6-8 hrs / shift); occasional squatting / crouching.Manual dexterity for precise venipuncture and labeling; frequent hand / wrist movements.Use of PPE (gloves, protective eyewear / garments; cold-gear as needed).Work around biological fluids; occasional work in cold storage areas.Pay & benefits
