Summary
The Fire polish Operator is primarily responsible for Fire polishing features or entire part surfaces, also repair work which involves fusing quartz rods to a specified area to repair that part. While contributing to team efforts for operating in a safe environment for the timely delivery of quality parts by maximizing first run production of parts to router requirements.
Primary Responsibilities :
- Determines sequence of operations by studying the router, blueprints, specifications, and work orders.
- Loads the appropriate parts on fixtures to fire polish parts.
- Prepares machine for production by positioning parts on laser table with clamps or jigs.
- Regulates Flame torches by setting and adjusting controls.
- Maintains specifications by observing operations, detecting defects, inspecting parts, and adjusting controls.
- Resolves production problems by adjusting controls and process materials to meet specifications. Notifies supervisor for additional resources when necessary.
- Ensures operation of equipment by completing preventive maintenance requirements on a timely basis, following manufacturer's instructions, troubleshooting malfunctions, and alerting supervisor of necessity of repairs.
- Meets daily production schedule.
- Maintains continuity among work teams by documenting and communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs.
- Documents actions by completing production and quality logs.
- Contributes to continuous improvement process.

Qualifications :
Knowledge : GED or High School Diploma required as well as 1 to 3 years of Manufacturing Experience.
Abilities : Manufacturing Quality, Controls and Instrumentation, and Mechanical Inspection Tools.
Skills : Decision Making, Problem Solving, understands copy exact requirements, experience with OSHA compliance, and basic reading and math skills (minimum of 8th grade level).
