Our Temple location is seeking a Service Writer to support our service department by helping keep repairs on track, customers informed, and technicians supported.

Position Overview

The Service Writer is often the first and last point of contact for service customers. This role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. You'll be responsible for creating repair orders, coordinating technician schedules, and keeping customers informed throughout the repair process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Greet customers and gather details about service needs
  • Create and manage work orders accurately in the system
  • Schedule repairs and communicate timelines with both technicians and customers
  • Coordinate with the parts department to ensure timely availability of parts
  • Monitor job progress and update customers regularly
  • Verify warranty coverage and document all services performed
  • Support the service manager with administrative and customer-facing tasks
  • Ensure customer satisfaction from check-in to follow-up

    • Qualifications

    Required

  • Previous experience in a customer service or administrative role, preferably in a dealership or repair shop
  • Strong computer skills and the ability to learn new systems quickly
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and remain calm under pressure

    • Preferred

  • Knowledge of tractors, ag equipment, or dealership operations
  • Experience with service writing or dispatching
  • Understanding of warranties and service processes
