Expert knowledge on at least one of the following PLC platforms. Schneider Momentum, M340, M580, AB Control, Compact Logix, Woodward MSLC, DSLC, Easy Gen, and LS5 ArchitectureInterpret customer specifications and drawings, and apply them to design platform while considering industry regulations and requirementsCustomize PLC software and hardware templates(Desired)
Understand in detail the applicable NEC, UL 508, UL 891, UL 1558, UL MV, CSA 22-2, and ANSI requirements and their applications in switchgear controlsUnderstand protective relays, their functions associated with Generator, and Utility protection applicationsSoft Skills

Typical task breakdown :
Execute and support the design, test, manufacture, and commissioning of low and medium voltage switchgear that controls multiple generators which parallel to one or more utility sourcesProvide direction to CAD designers to create wiring and assembly drawings for generator paralleling switchgear controlsInteract with internal and external customers, accomplishing project milestonesCreate bill of materials for generator paralleling switchgear controls in ERP systemCreate PLC programs for control of generator paralleling switchgearExecute multiple projects simultaneouslyInteraction with team : Work alongside team of 5-8 engineers. Report to Engineering Manger.

The main function of a controls engineer is to design, develop, install, and maintain equipment which is used to monitor and control engineering systems and processes.
Job Responsibilities :
Assists in creating and following electrical design schedule, from specification concept to system up completion, while keeping to an overall project schedule.
Testing, evaluating, modifying and calibrating products and instruments.
Analyze plant processes, design and implement improvements
Troubleshooting issues with hardware and processes.
Analyze project requirements and perform technical calculations supporting design including electrical requirements, robotic safety standards, and motor controls.
Ensure all relevant safety objectives and legal requirements are observed for all work completed.
