The Logistics Planner responsibility is to support the Logistics Manager and focus on inbound and outbound shipments along with their associated processes. They follow best practice and standard work to ensure we are compliant with DOT; accounting; and regulated transportation principles and laws.
Responsibilities
The essential functions include, but are not limited to :
- Coordinate daily shipping and receiving of material to customers
- Plan and organize transportation of goods, ensuring timely and accurate delivery
- Support daily logistics operations including scheduling, document creation, and clerical duties
- Monitor routing, driver check-in, documentation compliance, and load audits
- Communicate effectively with internal teams
- Review and audit Bills of Lading for accuracy and compliance
- Utilize transportation management systems to assign carriers and schedule shipments
- Resolve transportation issues including shortages, damages, and missed deliveries
- Maintain organized records of shipping documentation and ensure compliance with customer-specific requirements
- Guide carrier agents to ensure timely, cost-effective transportation execution
- Monitor order volume trends and communicate irregularities to management and internal stakeholders
- Maintain accurate load information and ensure up-to-date load templates and requirements
- Provide regular status reports and performance updates to management
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Skills
Education
High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, or Business preferred)Experience
1–3 years of experience in transportation, shipping, logistics, or supply chain operationsKnowledge of carrier scheduling, freight classifications, and shipping documentationProficiency with Microsoft Office and transportation / logistics software systemsExperience with LTL, FTL, and multi-modal freight planning is a plusCompetencies
