CNC Machinist II

Position Details :
- This position will be In-Office
- Monday – Friday, 40 hours per week
- $25.00 -$40.00 an hour / DOE
Primary Function :
The CNC Machinist II is responsible for independently setting up and operating 5-axis and 3-axis CNC machines, lathe, or other machinery according to blueprint specifications. This role requires minimal supervision and includes mentoring entry-level machinists.
Essential Job Functions - Responsibilities :
Independently set up and operate CNC machines with minimal supervisionOwn full setups and take responsibility for quality outcomesInterpret complex blueprints and basic GD&T symbols and their applicationMake minor G&M code edits (offsets, tooling, macros) as neededSelect appropriate settings and make adjustments as necessaryMake mechanical and / or minor program (speed or feed) adjustments to ensure parts meet quality requirementsUse precision measuring instruments to accurately measure dimensions within print toleranceIdentify and resolve common machining issues independentlyFollow established quality standards and suggest improvements to processesMentor entry-level machinists and provide guidanceCommunicate setup and troubleshooting information effectivelyCommunicate recommendations to modify processes to improve productivity and qualityWork collaboratively with team members across different experience levelsFollow all safe work practices and safety rulesFollow Business Technology policies to protect sensitive dataCarry out other duties as required by the Director of Machining & Fabrication
Education and Experience : (Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities)
Associates Degree, Technical certificate, or equivalent requiredMinimum of 3-5 years of relevant work experience preferredStrong written and verbal English language communication skillsUnderstanding of GD&T symbols and their applicationExperience with CNC machine setup and operationAbility to read complex blueprints and make minor code modificationsExcellent teamwork / interpersonal skills and mentoring abilityDemonstrate commitment and adherence to Sigma Design Core ValuesPass a post-offer background verificationWork Environment :
Standard machine shop environment with various types of machinery. Appropriate safety garments (PPE) must be worn. Must be able to lift or move heavy objects up to 40lbs and must be able to stand and work as long as 12 hours in different positions.
