Principal Fleet Motor Engineer – Southern Nuclear – Birmingham (or Remote)

Location : Birmingham, Alabama (remote hybrid within the SNC footprint may be considered)

Summary of Position Duties

The Fleet Plant Engineering Support I&C Manager will provide technical support to the Southern Nuclear fleet of 8 operating units for medium and low voltage AC and VFD motor support.

The role will also manage motor maintenance and lifecycle programs, including long-range planning, performance monitoring, procedure development, and specification input.

Key Responsibilities

• Support fleet motor electrical and controls for medium and low voltage AC and VFD motors.
• Oversee motor maintenance, lifecycle management, and long-range planning.
• Develop and implement motor reliability programs and performance monitoring.
• Coordinate vendor factory acceptance testing and site acceptance testing.
• Assist in specification development and motor procurement.
• Provide on-site, field, and repair facility support for motor issues and special projects or outages.
