Principal, Technical Architect – Salesforce
We are seeking an experienced Principal Technical Architect to partner with our sales teams, delivering AI‑driven cloud solutions and shaping our product strategy. The role blends deep technical expertise with consultative sales skills to articulate a compelling value proposition for enterprise customers.
Responsibilities
- Partner with sales, marketing, and product teams to understand business and technical requirements and translate them into innovative, scalable solutions.
- Lead pre‑sales activities, including architecture workshops, technical demos, and solution road‑mapping for enterprise customers.
- Determine the appropriate mix of Salesforce and third‑party technologies, drawing on industry best practices and Salesforce Architecture methodologies.
- Develop reference architectures, best‑practice guidelines, and educational content for both internal audiences and external partners.
- Participate in delivery of solution best practices, reference architectures, educational sessions and industry summits.
- Support multiple concurrent projects and manage competing priorities with strong time‑management skills.
- Travel domestically as needed to meet clients, partners, and internal stakeholders.
Qualifications – Baseline Requirements
Deep knowledge of enterprise software applications and delivery models.Ability to understand business & IT requirements, translate those into compelling solutions, and present recommendations to executive, technical, and business audiences.Experience with coding (Apex, Node, Go, R, Java, C#, JavaScript, Python, Ruby, etc.) and willingness to work with code.Database and data‑management fundamentals; web and mobile application development and architecture.Application lifecycle management, integration principles, and tools.Enterprise data‑management tools and methods; process orchestration.Principles of network, application, and information security.Strong oral, written, presentation, and interpersonal communication skills.Strategic problem‑solving and thought leadership capabilities.Excellent time‑management and ability to support multiple concurrent projects.Lifelong learner, inquisitive, practical, and passionate about technology and knowledge sharing.Willingness and ability to travel domestically.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, MIS, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Data Science, or equivalent work experience; graduate study is a plus.Preferred Experience
Prior role as architect, solution engineer, IT consultant, or developer in a customer‑facing capacity.Experience building, implementing, administrating, or maintaining enterprise software.Understanding of risk mitigation, compliance, and security in enterprise software.Experience with design thinking, persona‑based discovery, or other innovation techniques.Proven experience in a specific field, vertical, or market segment.Knowledge of the Salesforce platform, including certifications and Trailhead superbadges.Core Technical Skills
Enterprise application lifecycle management.Robust understanding of database, data integration, and system architecture.Application and integration expertise, including process orchestration and enterprise integration tools.Strong grasp of network, application, and information security principles.Agentic AI & Generative AI Skills
Hands‑on experience with Agentic AI and Agentforce, including developing autonomous agents.Prompt engineering for large language models (LLMs) and advanced prompting techniques.Architecting and integrating generative AI solutions, APIs, and data pipelines.Deep understanding of Salesforce Data360, Data Cloud usage, and data enrichment for AI applications.Advanced proficiency with Salesforce Flow for orchestrating AI‑driven business processes.Professional Competencies
Exceptional communication and leadership skills, comfortable presenting to executive audiences.Project management and multitasking across concurrent initiatives.Continuous learning mindset with a passion for technology and knowledge sharing.Domestic travel readiness.Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field or equivalent; graduate study a plus.Compensation & Benefits
Base salary ranges (USD) :
Colorado : $168,420 – $225,260California : $185,220 – $247,730Illinois : $185,220 – $247,730In addition, Salesforce offers a comprehensive benefits package—including time‑off, medical / dental / vision, mental health, paid parental leave, life and disability insurance, 401(k), and an employee stock purchasing program.
