Job Title : English Learner (EL) Teacher / Instructional Coach
Reports To : School Principal
Location : Victory Collegiate Academy
Position Summary
Victory Schools is looking for a passionate and highly skilled English Learner (EL) Teacher and Instructional Coach for the 2025–2026 school year. This hybrid role combines the
responsibilities of overseeing English Learner program compliance and AZELLA testing with instructional coaching duties to strengthen classroom instruction and support teacher
development.
The EL Teacher / Instructional Coach will ensure all EL program requirements are met in accordance with the Arizona Department of Education (ADE), provide targeted instruction to
English Learners, and collaborate with teachers to enhance instructional practices across content areas. This position may include work in both Exceptional Student Services (ESS)
and non-ESS programs.
Key Responsibilities
English Learner Coordination and Compliance
- Ensure full compliance with all ADE English Learner (EL) program requirements, including documentation, timelines, and reporting.
 - Coordinate and administer all AZELLA assessments (placement, reassessment, and annual testing) within required windows.
 - Maintain accurate and up-to-date EL records in accordance with state and district guidelines.
 - Monitor and support the implementation of Individual Language Learner Plans (ILLPs) and ensure classroom teachers are following accommodations.
 - Collaborate with administrative staff to ensure accurate EL coding and data entry in student information systems.
 - Attend ADE trainings, maintain current knowledge of state policies, and communicate updates to site teams. Targeted Instruction for English Learners
 - Provide targeted, small-group, and individualized instruction to EL students in reading, writing, speaking, and listening.
 - Design lessons aligned with Arizona English Language Proficiency Standards (ELPS) and grade-level content standards.
 - Use data from AZELLA and classroom assessments to monitor student progress and inform instruction.
 - Collaborate with teachers to integrate language development strategies into core content areas.
 - Communicate regularly with families regarding student progress and support strategies at home.
 
Instructional Coaching Responsibilities
Collaborate with teachers to improve instruction, classroom management, and student engagement.Observe lessons and provide actionable, supportive feedback.Support curriculum implementation and alignment with Arizona standards.Analyze student achievement data to drive instructional adjustments and interventions.Lead professional development sessions, PLCs, and workshops to enhance teacher capacity.Foster collaboration, reflective practice, and a positive school culture.Support differentiation of instruction to meet diverse learner needs, including EL and ESS students.Attend IEP meetings as needed to support ESS compliance and instruction.Perform other duties as assigned by the Principal.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Strong understanding of effective instructional strategies, language acquisition, andclassroom management.
Experience coaching or mentoring teachers, especially in ESS or EL settings.Deep knowledge of EL compliance, AZELLA testing, and ADE reporting.Ability to analyze student data and use it to inform instruction.Strong communication, organization, and collaboration skills.Proficiency with educational technology and instructional tools.Commitment to equity, inclusion, and the Victory Schools mission of “Healthy Body,Healthy Mind, Whole Child.”
Minimum Qualifications
Education : Bachelor’s degree in Education or related field (Master’s in Education,Curriculum & Instruction, or related field preferred).
Certification : Valid Arizona Teaching Certificate with SEI Endorsement (Full SEI or ESLEndorsement preferred).
Experience :○ At least two years of teaching or instructional coaching experience (ESS or
non-ESS preferred).
○ Knowledge of AZELLA administration and ADE compliance systems.
Other Requirements :○ Must pass fingerprint and background clearance check.
○ Must be able to obtain and maintain an Arizona driver’s license.
○ Ability to lift and carry materials up to 20 pounds.
○ Completion of CPR, First Aid, and Nonviolent Crisis Intervention (CPI) training.
