Job role : Network Engineer III

Duration : 3-6 month contract to hire

Cisco IOS XR (preferred, not required)

OSPF

BGP

Monitoring Tools

LogicMonitor (primary monitoring tool)

Splunk (used primarily by NOC; engineer uses as end-user when needed)

Key Responsibilities :

Support and maintain enterprise routing and switching environments

Troubleshoot complex networking issues

Participate in network upgrades and refresh projects

Oversee and support junior engineers

Assist with infrastructure improvements and maintenance initiatives

Use monitoring tools to manage and silence alerts during maintenance

Required Skills :

Strong experience in :

o Routing & Switching

o OSPF

o BGP

o Enterprise-scale network troubleshooting

Experience working in complex, high-availability environments

Senior-level engineering background

Preferred / Nice-to-Have :

Cisco IOS XR exposure

Familiarity with :

o Network automation concepts

o Infrastructure as Code (IaC)

o Python (basic familiarity; no scripting ownership required)

Certifications (Preferred, Not Required) :

CCNP Highly preferred

CCNA

CCIE (not required; strong practical experience prioritized)

First 90-Day Focus :

Actively support production network operations

Participate in upgrades, refreshes, and infrastructure initiatives

Collaborate with senior engineers and cross-functional teams
