Job descriptionLead and manage the Geriatrics and Extended Care (GEC) services, ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care to elderly veterans. Develop and oversee strategic plans and clinical programs including Geriatrics, Hospice, Palliative Care, and Community Living Centers. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to enhance geriatric care and effectively address the healthcare needs of aging veterans. Implement and adhere to policies, protocols, and standards in alignment with VHA goals and mission. Supervise, mentor, and provide training to medical staff and healthcare professionals within the GEC service line. Drive healthcare outcomes improvement through quality improvement initiatives and evidence-based practices. Represent the GEC service on various internal and external committees and working groups. U.S. Citizenship. Board Eligible / Board certification in Geriatrics, Internal Medicine, or Family Medicine. Valid medical license to practice in the United States. Demonstrated leadership experience in a healthcare setting. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
