Patient Registration Representative - Butler Wound Center

Responsible for registering all patient types using established policy and procedures of the facility and communicate effectively with the patient / family, peers and all members of the health care team. Obtains accurate demographic information from patients and / or family members, verifies all proper insurance information, secure managed care referrals, obtain appropriate signatures on all forms, and collects co-pays at the time of service. Understands third party regulations, referrals, authorizations, Advance Beneficiary Notice, and Point of Service collections.

Essential Job Functions

• Perform all patient registration area functions with a high degree of accuracy.
• Keep patient flow moving by registering in a timely manner.
• Verify insurances to maximize reimbursements.
• Identify insurances that require out-of-pocket expense and collect payment from patient and time of service.
• Complete Advanced Beneficiary Notices, referrals, and authorizations to secure payment.
• Other duties as assigned.

Rarely Less than 0.25 hours or less than 2 reps / shift.
