EHS Manager Position

Huntsman is seeking an EHS Manager supporting the Advanced Materials Division located in Akron, Ohio. This position will report to the EHS Regional Senior Manager. The EHS Manager will be responsible for managing the Akron site's Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) management systems in close cooperation with the Site Manager, Regional EHS Manager, and other members of the site leadership team. This role ensures the site operates in full compliance with corporate and regulatory policies, providing a safe and environmentally sound workplace for employees and the surrounding community. The position includes direct leadership of two employees and supervision of two contractors.

In summary, as the EHS Manager, you will :

• Ensure compliance with federal, state, local, and corporate environmental, health, and safety standards, including but not limited to OSHA, ACC Responsible Care, TSCA, DOT, and EPA.
• Provide advice and counsel to plant leadership and act as an advisor to the Site Manager in all matters related to environment, health, safety, process safety, and site security.
• Deliver monthly and annual reports on site environmental performance, personal safety, and process safety metrics in accordance with corporate and regulatory requirements.
• Continuously improve safety and environmental performance by investigating incidents, developing corrective actions, and maintaining EHS improvement plans.
• Oversee site environmental compliance, including air, water, and waste management requirements.
• Be a visible presence in the facility to assess compliance with safety, process safety management (PSM), and environmental standards, using coaching and mentoring to drive EHS improvements.
• Manage EHS training programs, including employee onboarding, contractor training, emergency drills, industrial hygiene, and environmental compliance topics (SPCC, stormwater, emissions, waste handling, and disposal).
• Collaborate with other department managers to establish site policies, practices, and procedures in alignment with operational goals.
• Serve as an active participant on the Site Leadership Team, driving the EHS culture and advancing toward the goal of Zero Harm.
• Lead and develop the site's EHS management system, fostering a culture of process safety and environmental stewardship.
• Function as the Facility Security Officer, coordinating site security operations and requirements.
• Participate in site and regional EHS initiatives.
