Job description

Join a dedicated healthcare team in the Pacific Northwest region, providing compassionate and skilled patient care in an acute care setting. This part-time role involves working evening shifts, supporting patients with a variety of clinical and personal care needs under the supervision of registered nurses.

Job Summary

The Acute Care Patient Care Technician performs routine patient care tasks aligned with nursing standards and within the scope of a Certified Nursing Assistant license. Responsibilities include monitoring vital signs, assisting with mobility and hygiene, performing technical procedures such as EKGs and phlebotomy, and supporting patient comfort and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver direct patient care activities as delegated by nursing staff, including telemetry monitoring and wound care.
  • Assist patients with daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility.
  • Perform technical skills including CPR, phlebotomy, bladder scanning, and EKG acquisition.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of patient care data and transcribe physician orders.
  • Support a positive patient experience by anticipating needs and responding promptly to requests.
  • Contribute to a safe and clean environment by managing supplies and infection control protocols.
  • Participate actively in teamwork, training, and ongoing professional development.

Education and Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate degree preferred.
  • Completion of a state-approved Certified Nursing Assistant program.
  • One to two years of patient care experience, preferably in an acute care environment.
  • Telemetry experience is a plus.
  • Licenses and Certifications

  • Certified Nursing Assistant (NA-C) license in the applicable state.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
  • Medical Assistant Phlebotomy certification preferred.
  • Skills and Abilities

  • Strong knowledge of patient care practices and ability to maintain required competencies.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a compassionate approach.
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records and medical telemetry equipment.
  • Attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
  • Ability to maintain professionalism and confidentiality in all situations.
  • Physical Requirements

    Role involves frequent lifting, carrying, standing, walking, bending, and exposure to bloodborne pathogens, requiring physical stamina and adherence to safety protocols.
