Senior Engineer, IT Systems & Security - Los Angeles

As we continue to grow and modernize our infrastructure, we are seeking a Senior Engineer, IT Systems & Security to help drive the secure evolution of our technology environment.
The Senior Engineer, IT Systems & Security will play a critical role in designing, implementing, and maintaining secure, resilient, and scalable infrastructure across multiple environments. In addition to core systems engineering responsibilities, this position will lead efforts to enhance cybersecurity posture, ensure compliance with best practices, and proactively defend the enterprise against emerging threats. This role will report into a Senior Director of IT.
What You'll Do
Infrastructure Design & Management
- Architect, build, and maintain enterprise systems including Windows Server, Exchange Online, SQL Server, VMware vSphere, Entra ID, and storage solutions
- Administer Storage Area Networks, vSAN, and hyper-converged infrastructure platforms
- Oversee the deployment and lifecycle management of physical and virtual servers across multiple data centers
Cybersecurity Leadership
Implement, configure, and manage security technologies such as firewalls, IDS / IPS, NextGen endpoint detection and response (EDR), Network Detection and Response (NDR), and Zero Trust solutionsPartner with IT Security teams to monitor, analyze, and respond to security incidents and vulnerabilitiesMaintain compliance with security frameworks and internal policies (NIST, CIS Controls, etc.)Lead risk assessments and recommend mitigations to reduce attack surfaceUtilize advanced monitoring and logging platforms (e.g., LogicMonitor, Splunk, Darktrace, CrowdStrike) to ensure high availability and security of all systemsRespond to infrastructure and security events, coordinating remediation efforts end-to-endAutomation & Optimization
Develop and maintain automated workflows and configuration management using scripting and orchestration tools (PowerShell, Python, Ansible)Proactively identify opportunities to improve performance, resilience, and securityProvide Tier III escalation support to IT support teamsParticipate in disaster recovery planning, testing, and executionCollaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure and cybersecurity initiativesDocumentation & Compliance
Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of systems configurations, policies, and proceduresEnsure adherence to ITSM processes and audit requirementsWhat You'll Need
Education & Experience
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent experienceMinimum 7 years of experience in systems engineering with at least 3 years focused on cybersecurity solutions in enterprise environmentsTechnical Expertise
Advanced knowledge of :Windows Server (2016 / 2019 / 2022), Active Directory, Entra IDVMware vSphere administration at scale (300+ VMs)Storage systems (SAN, vSAN, HCI)Network services (DNS, DHCP, TCP / IP)Security platforms (Firewalls, IDS / IPS, NDR, EDR)Scripting proficiency in PowerShell, Python, or similarExperience with Darktrace, CrowdStrike, Proofpoint, Cohesity, and Splunk is highly desirableCertifications (Preferred)
One or more of the following : CISSP, CISM, CCSP, OSCP, CISAStrong analytical and troubleshooting skillsAbility to work independently and as part of a collaborative teamExcellent written and verbal communication skillsCommitment to continuous learning and staying current with emerging technologiesOther Requirements
