Mechanical Design Engineer I

In this position you will design and develop new ideas, solutions for new product development, current product modifications, and improvements based on in-service issues / market strategy. Also, you are responsible for design and implementation of mechanical parts, subassemblies, and product improvements. Focus on the design and implementation of material handling equipment in a wide variety of market spaces including conveyance, sortation, robotics, and automation. You will collaborate with customers, quality, and manufacturing departments to ensure equipment is being produced to your and our specifications.

Key Responsibilities :

Technical documentation support

Drawing creation and maintenance

Component and system analysis (hand and FEA)

Engineering assistance to end users and manufacturing teams

Write specifications on internal designs

Cost estimation of new and existing parts, assemblies, and products

Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as electrical and controls engineers

Document research on new and existing design improvements

Lead and participate in engineering design reviews

YOU MUST HAVE

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution in a technical discipline such as the sciences, technology, engineering, or mathematics

Experience with 3D modeling of individual parts and simple / complex assemblies.

Experience with part and assembly definition, design, and support.

Background in product development and / or sustaining engineering

Knowledge of conveyor systems used in distribution and fulfillment centers
