Post-Acute Authorization Specialist

A company is looking for a Post-Acute Prior Authorization Specialist.

Key Responsibilities

Initiate and obtain insurance authorization requests for post-acute services

Collaborate with case management teams, hospital staff, and insurance companies to meet patient care needs

Maintain knowledge of payer portal functionality and medical necessity requirements for post-acute care

Required Qualifications

High school diploma / GED with two years of experience in post-acute insurance authorization or an Associate's degree in a healthcare field with one year of experience

Solid computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft software

Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively

Critical thinking skills to prioritize tasks within established timeframes

Interpersonal skills for effective communication with team members and patients
