Information Systems Applications Analyst / Trainer II

Position Overview :

The Application Analyst II has intermediate to advanced knowledge of relevant applications and acts as a bridge between vendors, end users, and team members. They communicate regularly with internal teams, application vendors, clinical and business representatives, and subject matter experts to tailor systems to the organization's needs. They assist in analyzing workflows, data collection, report details, and technical issues related to applications. The Analyst II supports team efforts by coordinating with end users and stakeholders, ensuring all duties align with Singing River Health System policies, accreditation standards, and healthcare regulations.

Qualifications :

  • Education : High school diploma or equivalent required. A Bachelor's Degree in computer science, mathematics, a clinically related field, or relevant experience may be considered.
  • License : Appropriate for the specific team (e.g., Nursing, Respiratory Therapy, Radiology, Coding).
  • Certifications : Current Epic application certifications, with ongoing training to maintain certification.
  • Experience : At least two years in developing, implementing, or maintaining healthcare information systems, including experience with hospital or clinic databases and interfaces, and project management on small to medium projects.

Reporting Structure :

Reports to : Manager of Information System Revenue Cycle & Ambulatory or Manager of Clinical Applications

Physical and Mental Demands :

Work involves moderate activity, physical movement, and travel within the SRHS service area. Must safely handle supplies, equipment, and patients up to 350 pounds, using proper techniques. Physical activities include repetitive motions, exposure to body fluids, and visual acuity tasks. Must be able to work extended periods without fatigue and adapt to schedule changes.

Mental requirements include strong decision-making, communication, emotional stability, attention to detail, and the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

Additional Requirements :

  • Superior customer service and professional etiquette.
  • Proficiency in computer use, including keyboard skills, MS Outlook, Word, and office technology.
  • Out-of-state travel for education; valid driver's license required for local travel within the SRHS area.
