Job Title : Ski & Ride School Special Program Supervisor
Type of Position : Seasonal – Full-Time
Schedule : Weekends and holidays required.
Pay Rate : Starts at $24.00 / hr., based on skills and experience.

Summary
Works with Ski & Ride School management team to provide high quality ski and snowboard experiences for a variety of Special Program participants with safety, fun and learning as our top priority. Manages time effectively to meet demands of customers and employees. Plans and executes daily activities to meet sales volume and current staffing requirements of muti-week programs. Coordinates with other departments to ensure peak performance area wide. Determines required staffing levels and qualifications then monitors attendance. Communicates assignments and expectations to employees then monitors performance to ensure execution. Monitors employees’ performance throughout each day, debriefs activities and provides developmental or corrective feedback. Ensures compliance with Loveland Ski Area and Ski & Ride School department policies and procedures and safety protocol.
Essential Functions
- Work closely with supervisory peers to ensure that instructor staffing levels are balanced to meet all program needs and financial goals with safety, fun and learning as the primary goals.
- Assess seasonal customer reservation levels and staffing assignments to ensure proper and appropriate staffing.
- Close communication with instructors assigned to your program to facilitate accurate information on meeting times, locations, job duties & procedures, and length of assignments.
- Provide instructor training and guidance in content introduction, guidance, feedback, practice time and wrap up as outlined in Loveland training materials.
- Supporting all team members with any student issues to help meet customer needs.
- Assist in instructor training in specific procedures and maneuvers, including loading and unloading lifts and any indoor activities or procedures.
- Provide ongoing, formalized lesson / job performance quality and developmental feedback or coaching, and end of season evaluations to instructors. Monitoring behavior and performance, disciplining and improving instructors.
- Recruiting, screening, on-boarding and training instructors. Retaining, mentoring, and developing instructors
- Point person on Direct Report, incident forms. Become Incident SRS Liaison with Parents / Clients within our affective zone of responsibility. Daily client interactions with resolution either positive or negative. First line of effect of complaint or compliment from guests.
- Work and oversee a variety of support roles as needed to maintain cleanliness of facilities, set up and teardown of teaching areas, rental operations, snow removal, reservation / student check in processes, serving lunch to kids, and indoor facility staffing and operations; be willing to occasionally perform duties in other departments if needed.
- Ensure adherence to all safety protocol, policy and procedures as described in Loveland training material.
Requirements :
Must be at least 18 years of age.High School Diploma or equivalent required.2-year’s experience working in a PSIA / AASI Member School.Supervisory experience preferredPSIA / AASI Level 1 Certification minimum (or attained within 2 seasons), PSIA / AASI Level 2 preferred.Maintain People, Teaching and Technical skills to demonstrate current PSIA / AASI National Standards.Must be able to verbally communicate, demonstrate and explain concepts clearly to people of all ages.Must have basic computer skills to assign and review job assignments.Training will be provided on Siriusware systems.English required additional language(s) are a plus.Must be patient and nurturing to students and team members.Must be able to lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50lbs and perform other physically demanding skills, like standing for extended periods of time in extreme weather conditions and high elevations.Must be able to ski and / or ride at a technical level adequate for the performance of the job duties.
