Job description

Job Title : Clinician for Physical Therapy

Department : Rehabilitation Services

Reports To : Director of Rehabilitation Services

FLSA Status : Non-Exempt

Hours : PRN and Occasional (16-19 / week)

Shift : Days (Monday - Friday 8 : 00 a.m. - 6 : 00 p.m.)

Job Description

Reports to the Director of Rehab Services and / or the designated Site Leader. Assumes responsibility and accountability for the planning, provision and coordination of all aspects of direct patient care for a designated group of patients / clients in accordance with established facility and departmental policies and procedures, maintaining the highest degree of quality care. The therapist works cooperatively with other patient team personnel in maintaining standards of professional physical therapy practice and interdisciplinary teamwork.

The staff therapist using independent judgment also assumes responsibility and accountability for the delivery of physical therapy services provided by physical therapist assistants and rehabilitation technicians / support staff and may be assigned to orient staff and students and to assume the duties and responsibilities of the team leader in the absence of that individual. The staff therapist participates in performance improvement and program development activities, which includes providing input into the budgetary planning process, contributing to cost effectiveness of services, and maintaining positive relations with all customers.

The staff therapist will also participate in special department / clinic functions as assigned by the Director of Rehab Services. The omission of specific statements of duties does not exclude them from the position if the work is similar, related or a logical assignment on this job.

Supervision of physical therapist assistants, rehabilitation technicians / support staff, students and volunteers assigned to Physical Therapy, in accordance with state practice act, regulatory, and payor guidelines. Minimum Qualifications

Licensed in the state of Idaho

Graduated from an accredited Physical Therapy School

Must be a graduate of a professional training program approved by the American Physical Therapy Association. Bachelor's degree (B. S.) from four-year college or university.

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute percent.

Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

Knowledgeable in internet navigation using Netscape, Google Chrome or Internet Explorer and basic computer skills to utilize email, and open and close documents.
