About The Position

Must-Have :

• Experience with a 1 : 6 patient ratio
• Rapid Response team experience
• Total joint experience

Description :

Years of experience required : 2 years.

Local travelers are not accepted; candidates must reside more than 30 miles from the facility.

Floating is required within the scope of practice.

Block scheduling is not permitted.

No requests for time off during the first or last week of the assignment.

Mandatory requirements include working 5 shifts during the clinical orientation week.

The facility is an acute care hospital with a total of 210 staffed beds.

Scrub color is not restricted.

Charting will be done using an electronic medical record system.

Additional details :

Three call-outs may result in termination.

Notice of 48 hours or less regarding a shift change may result in forfeiting guaranteed hours for the pay period.

Notice given one week or more in advance regarding a shift change may result in termination.

Travelers may be required to work holidays, depending on the number of holidays within the assignment.

Skills required include :

Accessing and managing ports, blood product administration, cardiac telemetry, central line care and management, chemotherapy administration, chest tube management, and interpretation of dysrhythmias.

Experience with high acuity patients is necessary.

Candidates should be able to manage cardiac drips without titration, as well as provide care for total joint replacements and handle rapid response situations.

Other skills include telemetry monitoring, IV maintenance, and wound care.

Working with adult and geriatric patients is essential.

Daily patient census varies.

Interdisciplinary support teams will include physical therapy, respiratory services, social services, and pharmacy.
