Medical Surgical - Orthopedic Unit - Registered Nurse

Shift : 7 : 00 AM - 7 : 30 PM

Experience :

• 24 months of role experience is required from any number of months.
• 24 months of Medical Surgical - Orthopedic Unit experience is required from last 4 years.

Requirements :

50 miles from facility to be submitted.

Additional Details :

Previous perm staff must be gone for 2 years before they are eligible to return in a traveler capacity. No exceptions.

Artificial nails are not allowed for any travelers. Failure to adhere could result in being sent home and / or terminated if policy is not followed.

If candidate worked a perm facility in the last 12 months, 1 reference must be from perm facility.

Roles requiring a state licensure only : Cannot have any licensure hits

Guaranteed Hours : 36

Weekends as scheduled

Holiday Requirement Holidays will depend on the needs of the unit. If they don’t have enough perm staff to cover holidays, travelers would be expected to work holidays.

Is there a call or standby requirement? “Depending on their contract they could be called off for low census

Floating Requirements : Travelers are the 1st to float. Floating is required to any MedSurg units. If floated to Tele they would be assigned patients w / in skillset.

Scrub Color / Dress Code Royal Blue - Scrub jackets are not required; however, if they wear a jacket it must be an actual scrub jacket & must be royal blue. No hoodies or sweat-jackets.

Common diagnoses / Types of patients Alot of elective surgeries : hips, knees, shoulders; some fractures from falls; back & neck (Neuro-surgeries), as well as general MedSurg

Experience or ‘Must have’ skills : Must have experience with ortho patients & PCA Pumps

1 reference from last 2 years (Charge / Lead reference type) - required for submission

1 reference from last 12 months (Manager / Supervisor reference type) - required for submission

Driver’s license required for submission
