Job Requirements\n\nNurse to Patient Ratio- Days 1 : 9 to 1 : 14 depending\n\nBeds : 25\n\nCase Types : Ortho, Cardiac, Pulmonary, Wounds\n\nPosition Summary\n\nUnder Nurse Manager supervision, the registered nurse demonstrates thorough knowledge of therapeutic patient care, patient advocacy, clinical pathways / care maps, team dynamics, hospital systems, and serves as a resource for the registered nurse and support staff. It is the premise of the Professional Practice Program that each of the key responsibilities builds on the preceding requirements.\n\nMinimum Requirements\n\nEducation\n\n

• Graduate of an accredited school of nursing\n\nExperience\n\n

• Minimum of one year of recent Registered Nurse experience within the past 5 years\n\nPreferred License / Registration / Certifications\n\n

• Collaborates with patients, families, and other members of the health care team to determine patient priorities and treatments\n
• Initiates and facilitates interdisciplinary collaboration to enhance outcome\n
• Seeks necessary assistance in completing nursing interventions to assure positive patient outcomes\n\n
• Participates in hourly rounding and bedside shift report\n
• Responsible for demonstrating competencies for all new equipment and procedures\n\n
• Provides clinical guidance to students and ancillary staff\n\n
• Serves as a clinical resource and preceptor\n\n
• Participates in patient, family, and staff education\n
• Successfully completes hospital and unit-based orientation programs\n\n
• Formulates a plan for professional growth\n
• Ensures compliance with all clinical expectations regarding regulatory requirements\n
• Identifies appropriate standards of care, and / or collaborative clinical pathways to guide the plan of care\n\n
• Complies with established policies and procedures\n\n
• Identifies the need to develop or revise policies and procedures pertaining to specialized patient populations and / or unit and hospital-based practices\n\n
• Serves on unit-based committees\n
• Prioritizes nursing interventions for an assigned group of patients\n
• Assesses assigned patients' medical history, admitting diagnosis and physician orders, obtaining nursing history, performing physical assessment, evaluating diagnostic data, and interviewing patient and family to determine patient needs\n
• Demonstrates knowledge of professional nursing practice and theory\n\n
• Assures continuity of care through effective decision making resulting in quality patient care\n\n
• Documents all aspects of patient care by following established charting procedure to show the patient's progress or any change in the patient's condition
