Entry Level Accountant Position
Entry level accountant position reporting to the Partner Accounting Supervisor and supporting other department staff.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Prepare and post journal entries and review general ledger account activity;
- Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations;
- Assist in preparation, verification and posting of annual partner package reports;
- Maintain database of partner records including compensation, deductions, and other elections.
- Verify lateral special deals based on offer letters;
- Verify changes reflected in the partner compensation reconciliation and amendments;
- Verify withdrawn partner arrangements based on separation agreements;
- Prepare quarterly spreadsheet, statements of activity and letters for withdrawn partner capital holdback settlements;
- Reconcile withdrawn partner capital account to the partner preliminary settlement schedule prior to payout of remaining balance;
- Maintain withdrawn partner separation arrangements and capital settlement tracking in PRISM Notes database tables;
- Perform Staff Accountant (Cash Management) duties as required;
- Special projects as assigned;
- Provide general administrative assistance as needed;
- Communicate effectively with other departments and outside parties;
- Develop a strong understanding of Firm operations and the law firm industry, along with an appreciation for high quality customer service.
Salaries vary by location and are based on numerous factors, including, but not limited to, the relevant market, skills, experience, and education of the selected candidate. If an estimated salary range for this role is available, it will be provided in our Target Salary Range section. Our compensation package also includes bonus eligibility and a comprehensive benefits program.
Target Salary Range
$70,000 - $80,000 if located in Illinois

Education and / or Experience :
Bachelor's degree from an accredited and approved college or university (Accounting degree preferred).Ability to use various software applications.Strong Excel skills, including experience with Pivot tables.Other Skills and Abilities :
