Job Description

Miami Valley Tutoring Services (MVTS), in Fairborn, OH, is looking for Registered Behavior Technicians (RBTs) to teach children with autism and / or other developmental disabilities. We are specifically seeking eager, energetic and committed team players who will immerse themselves in our company and help us reach the next level of quality service. We’re especially recruiting self-starters who can bring new and creative ideas to our agency. The ability to lead, train and supervise others is a huge plus, too.

The RBT credential was established by the Behavior Analyst’s Certification Board (BACB). These paraprofessionals practice under the close, ongoing supervision of a certified behavior analyst to provide intensive behavioral intervention and educational therapy for clients. The RBT certificate requires 40 hours of Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) training, on-the-job task evaluations, and a passing score on a computer-based examination administered at a local Pearson VUE testing center. MVTS will consider applicants who do not yet possess RBT certification if they demonstrate a strong desire to work with children with autism, and the resolve to obtain this credential.

Duties include :

  • Completion of weekly program writing and maintenance of client's curriculum.
  • Collaboration with other therapists and team members.
  • Collecting, tracking and graphing data as instructed.
  • Participating in on-going job training and career development.

Position requirements :

Candidates must be bright, committed and compassionate with a team-oriented focus. Must be dependable, trustworthy, energetic, animated, and outgoing, with a passion for helping children achieve their true potential. All applicants :

  • Must pass background checks.
  • Must have two years of college from an accredited university or college in psychology, education or a related field is highly preferred.
  • Should have at least one-year experience working with individuals with autism and / or developmental disabilities.
  • A preferred candidate will possess :

  • The desire to work with children of all ages and abilities.
  • An inherent ability to “connect” with children and teach in the natural environment.
  • Expertise in reducing problem behaviors.
  • Strong foundation in the understanding of ABA principles.
  • Ability to work with apps, games and web based technology via an iPad.
