Job Title : Fitter

Job Description

As a Fitter, you will be responsible for assembling and fitting miscellaneous steel components according to technical drawings and blueprints, ensuring that they meet design specifications and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Verify conformance of work pieces to specifications using squares, rulers, and measuring tapes.
• Weld steel members efficiently and accurately.
• Move steel members into positions manually or with hoists or cranes.
• Position, align, fit, and weld parts to form complete units or subunits, following blueprints and layout specifications, utilizing jigs, welding torches, and hand tools.
• Determine the appropriate method and sequence of tasks to fabricate items in the most efficient way possible.
• Coach and train lower-level fitters to help them advance in their skill sets.
• Assist foremen and managers in maintaining consistent workflow and production on the shop floor to ensure timely completion of projects.
• Ensure all peers are following safety policies diligently.
• Conduct thorough quality checks to identify and rectify defects, ensuring that the finished product meets quality standards.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cleburne, Texas.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $27.00 / hr.
