Nurse Manager Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit (CVICU)
Join an advanced cardiovascular specialty hospital in Dallas, Texas, as the Nurse Manager of Critical Care (CVICU). This leadership role supports a growing 28-bed cardiovascular ICU and oversees approximately 40 clinical professionals, including ECMO-trained staff. As part of a two-manager structure, this position is key to maintaining operational excellence and ensuring the highest standards of care for complex cardiac and vascular patients.
The ideal leader will bring strong clinical expertise, collaborative energy, and a proven ability to drive results in a high-acuity cardiac environment.
Responsibilities
- Provide daily direction and long-term strategy for CVICU operations and staff performance.
- Coordinate unit activities, patient flow, and clinical assignments to ensure safe, effective care.
- Partner with physicians and multidisciplinary leaders to enhance outcomes, throughput, and staff engagement.
- Oversee quality assurance, regulatory readiness, and evidence-based practice compliance.
- Mentor, coach, and evaluate nursing staff to build a high-performing, team-oriented culture.
- Support budgeting, resource allocation, and workforce planning.
- Participate in initiatives to expand cardiovascular services, including ECMO and advanced device therapy programs.
- Maintain visibility on the unit and serve as a role model for clinical leadership and accountability.
Qualifications
Required :
Current Texas or Compact RN licenseBachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN)Minimum 4 years of recent acute care leadership in CVICU or ICUBLS and ACLS (AHA or Red Cross)Preferred :
Master's degree in Nursing or related healthcare fieldNational certification (CCRN, CNRN, or equivalent)Demonstrated experience in cardiac critical care expansion or ECMO oversightCompensation & Benefits
