BETA Group, Inc is seeking a highly skilled and experienced senior bridge engineer ready to prove themself in a Structural Project Manager role. This individual will have the opportunity to lead and oversee bridge / culvert design projects from initiation through completion. The ideal candidate should have previous experience piloting bridge assignments for NHDOT, MassDOT, other state agencies, and municipalities. In addition, there will be opportunities to manage projects and design other structures for municipalities, to oversee the preparation of contract plans and documents, and mentor junior staff. Responsibilities :
- Manage projects from development of scopes, budgets and schedules through to design and construction phase services on a variety of bridge rehabilitation and replacement and other projects
- Work with staff to produce planning documents, advance detailed engineering designs, develop and review contract documents for construction
- Produce high-quality designs and reports, responsible for ensuring proper quality control procedures on all projects
- Supervise / coordinate / mentor junior staff; instruct them on technical procedures and review their work for accuracy
- Coordinate with clients and drive assigned projects to completion
- Plan, schedule, conduct, or coordinate detailed phases of projects
- Manage multiple ongoing projects
- Continue to broaden technical skills within the chosen discipline
- Lead team, client and public meetings
- Oversee, collaborate and communicate with multi-discipline subconsultants across internal disciplines / office locations to complete projects on time and on budget
Preferred location is BETA’s Manchester office. Candidates should have flexibility to work from our other office locations. BETA also offers a hybrid work schedule, allowing employees to request working remotely up to 2 days per week.

Required Experience / Skills :
Bachelor's degree in civil or structural engineeringProfessional Engineer (PE) License13+ years of related engineering experienceDemonstrated strong background in structural / bridge engineeringNHDOT design experienceProject management experienceKnowledge and experience with the implementation of planning, design, bidding and construction oversight of bridge projectsSkilled in writing and ability to prepare formal reportsStrong leadership and organizational skillsExcellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skillsEnthusiasm to learn and willingness to take on responsibilityWilling to work in a collaborative team environmentMust be able to collect field data and measurements; and perform inspections for bridges and other structuresMust be able to lift / move objects weighing up to 40 poundsMust be able to perform field work in both hot and cold weather (rain and / or snow)Must be able to stand or sit for long periods of timeMust have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportationPreferred Experience / Skills :
Proficient in AutoCADProficient in OpenBridge Designer, SAP2000, AASHTOWare BrR, ExcelStrong background in structural analysisMassDOT, RIDOT, VTrans, CTDOT, or MaineDOT design experienceAbout BETA :
