Job description

JOB DESCRIPTION :

An entry level position involving the study of mouse models of Alzheimer's disease and Down syndrome. The project involves animal husbandry and handling, PCR, and morphological analyses of mouse brain tissues. This position will support Ginsberg laboratory research associates conducting multi-'omics studies in brain tissues.

JOB DUTIES :

  • Animal handling.
  • Animal husbandry.
  • Immunolabeling / histology of fixed tissue.
  • General laboratory work / preparation.
  • PCR for genotyping.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS :

Minimum Qualifications :

  • BA / BS or equivalent in a biological field.
  • Preferred Qualifications :

  • Experience with neuroscience preferred.
  • Experience rodent handling preferred.
  • Experience with PCR and DNA extraction preferred.
  • Background Investigation / Justice Center Review Requirements :

    Prospective appointees will be : 1) Checked against the Staff Exclusion List (SEL) maintained by the Justice Center for the Protection of People with Special Needs. Prospective employees whose names appear on the SEL as having been found responsible for serious or repeated acts of abuse or neglect will be barred from appointment. 2) Screened against the Statewide Central Register of Child Abuse and Maltreatment (SCR). Prospective employees whose names are indicated on the SCR may be barred from appointment.
