Summary
The Rail Loader is responsible for loading customer vehicles into tri?level / bi?level auto racks for the delivery of a damaged free product to off?loading destination sites following the guideline set by the Association of American Railroads and Hyundai GLOVIS transportation and vehicle handling procedures.
Responsibilities
Load vehicles inside rail car in accordance with the practices and standards of the Association of American railroads and Hyundai GLOVISDrive customers vehicles
Walk long distancesUse hand toolsSet up and store bridge platesOpen / close and seal rail car doorAscend and descend rail car ladder (using 3 points of contact)Follow Rules, Regulations and ProceduresReport all hazard / injuries / near misses to van driver or supervisor
Communicate well with co?workersPerform tasks in safe mannerFollow supervisor and van drivers given instructionsObey lead person, supervisor instructionsAlways must wear company attire.Have a good understanding of daily tasks, and perform them in a safe productive manner, without errorsMake sound decisions in preventing hazard to yourself and co?worker
Perform all rail loading activities following AAR practices and standardsObey all OSHA, FRA, AAR, Hyundai Glovis transportation manual, local and State guidelines and regulationsProperly wear safety equipment when working in and around railAscend and Descend utilizing 3 points contact rule on ladder and crossing over bridged platesWork in diverse weather conditionsAbility to work alone and in team setting. Taking the initiative to perform duties with minimal supervisionWrite down VIN numbers on verification sheet (with training and approval)
Scan vehicle with scanning device (with training and approval)Spot / park vehicle inside rail cars (with training and approval)Operate loading ramp (with training and approval)Maintain a good attendance recordOther duties as assignedCompensation
