Loupiotte Kitchen is a cozy and charming French café in the heart of Los Feliz. Open seven days a week from 9:00am–2:30pm, we are a neighborhood restaurant built on warmth, consistency, and care — for our food, our guests, and our team.
We are seeking a hands-on General Manager who is excited by real responsibility and wants to grow with a well-loved, intentionally run restaurant. This role is ideal for someone early to mid-career who is ambitious, detail-oriented, and genuinely passionate about both cooking and hospitality.
This is not a corporate management role — it is a creative, high-trust, high-involvement position in a small operation where your decisions and presence matter every day.
The Role
This is a hybrid General Manager / working leader role. In addition to overseeing daily operations and guest experience, the GM will function as the primary kitchen lead and floor manager during service.
On any given service, this means:
- Taking the lead in the kitchen when needed, including cooking, prep, and maintaining quality and pace
- Actively managing the floor — greeting guests, supporting FOH staff, resolving issues in real time, and setting the tone for service
- Moving fluidly between kitchen and dining room to ensure communication, timing, and standards are upheld
- Serving as the central point of leadership during service, especially during peak hours
- This role is designed for someone who enjoys being deeply involved in service and takes pride in keeping a small operation running smoothly, calmly, and with care.
We operate with a lean, thoughtful staff, and this role is central to keeping the restaurant calm, consistent, and human.
Responsibilities
- Lead daily operations with a focus on hospitality, food quality, cleanliness, and flow
- Hire, train, schedule, and develop a small team with care and accountability
- Foster a warm, respectful culture for guests, staff, and the surrounding community
- Partner closely with the kitchen to maintain consistency and quality
- Actively cook or assist in the kitchen when needed
- Manage purchasing, inventory, and basic cost controls
- Be a steady, visible presence during service
Who This Role Is For
- Someone with 1+ years of restaurant leadership experience
- A strong cook who enjoys being in the kitchen
- A people-person with good judgment and emotional intelligence
- Organized, curious, and eager to learn the business deeply
French cuisine experience and/or French language skills are a strong plus!
