The primary result expected from Machine Operator position is to operate rotational molding machines as designated under the supervision and direction of operations leadership. The Machine Operator will monitor the quality of the plastics parts after they are demolded to ensure the parts are to quality standards.

Operates rotational molding machine to meet or exceed plant metrics related to Safety, Quality, Delivery, Cost and Morale / Inventory

Detects and reports defective materials or questionable conditions to the department supervisor

Maintains the work area and equipment in a clean, orderly condition and follows prescribed safety regulations

Safely works at a pace that meets company expectations e.g., parts per hour or minutes per part as quoted to customer.

Able to work independently, be a self-starter, and meet deadlines

High attention to detail and able to retain and follow detailed work instructions.

Able to detect and communicate molding defects efficiently and effectively

Able to work through difficult and complex situations without becoming frustrated

Shows moral courage, integrity, openness, and honesty in all dealings

Able to perform simple math and measurements

Able to create and maintain accurate production records

Able to meet daily production expectations

Able to effectively communicate critical information and production needs to supervision and co-workers

This position is required to constantly stand and walk

It is necessary for this position to frequently climb stairs throughout the day

Frequent stooping, bending, squatting, crouching, or reaching above the shoulders

Frequent use of hands and wrists on both large and small items : e.g., screws, bolts, nuts to service the molds

Able to focus and work at a continuous pace for extended periods of time

15 to 25 lbs. frequent lifting; 20 to 40 lbs. occasional lifting; heavier product occasionally

Manual dexterity is required to perform normal day to day functions

Must always demonstrate patience to successfully work through frustrating challenges and present oneself in a calm professional manner

Must have the ability to work with and around others

Ability to wear appropriate personal protective equipment

The plant environment is not climate controlled. In some areas the climate will be extremely hot from machinery and there will be exposure to noise from the equipment. Personal protective equipment is required in the facility. There may also be intermittent exposure to fumes, moving mechanical parts and tool vibration.
