Primary Duties

  • Collaborate with domestic and international suppliers to enhance designs for high-volume manufacturing and cost optimization
  • Develop comprehensive test procedures to validate products against industry standards and functional specifications
  • Support Manufacturing and Quality Control teams in troubleshooting and resolving production issues
  • Partner directly with sales personnel and customers to create market-focused engineering solutions
  • Create and develop locking mechanisms, operational hardware, and rolling systems for residential window and door products utilizing 3D CAD technology
  • Champion value engineering efforts and continuous improvement projects for current and future product lines
  • Contribute to Lean manufacturing programs and support operational excellence goals
  • Oversee multiple concurrent projects while adhering to timeline and financial parameters
  • Spearhead new product development projects from initial concept to market introduction following structured phase-gate methodology
  • Ensure all engineering documentation meets established document management standards

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of practical experience with CREO CAD software (non-negotiable requirement)
  • Comprehensive understanding of manufacturing methods such as die-casting, injection molding, and metal forming
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent discipline
  • Minimum 5 years of design engineering experience within manufacturing operations
  • Material science knowledge covering metals, polymers, and surface treatments
  • Exceptional analytical thinking and problem-resolution capabilities
  • Solid foundation in machine design principles, kinematics, dynamics, and stress analysis
  • Competency in both 2D and 3D computer-aided design platforms
  • Physical capability to lift up to 20 lbs and navigate manufacturing areas when required
  • Outstanding organizational abilities with demonstrated time management and prioritization skills
  • Effective communication skills for interdisciplinary teamwork
  • Practical engineering mindset with hands-on problem-solving approach
  • Willingness to travel occasionally (roughly 20% per year) for supplier and customer visits
  • Preferred Experience
  • Background in window and door (fenestration) industry or construction materials field
  • Product management experience covering concept development through commercial release
  • Knowledge of value engineering and cost optimization methodologies
  • Lean manufacturing environment exposure
  • Understanding of industry testing protocols (AAMA, NAFS, ASTM)
  • Project management background

  • Annual Salary : $85,000 - $110,000 (based on qualifications and experience)
