Responsibilities Position is in an acute care hospital setting on a 49-bed Medical / Surgical Telemetry unit Patient population includes CHF, COVID, respiratory, GI, diabetic, telemetry, post-cath, and total joint replacement cases Nurse to patient ratio is typically 1 : 5 Required to work 12-hour day shifts (7a-7p) with self-scheduling and every other weekend coverage RNs are the first to float to East Campus and possibly the PCU if qualified Required to interpret and sign telemetry strips once per shift Uses Cerner EMR BiPap, CPAP, and breathing treatments are utilized on the unit No call or on-call requirements Responsibilities include interpreting telemetry strips and documenting per shift requirements Work with charge nurse, house supervisor, and nurse aides (aide ratio 1 : 10-15) Required to pass sterile technique skills check (Foley catheter and central line dressing) during orientation One shift of unit-based orientation is provided Scrub color is navy blue Holiday coverage required for Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year's (specific expectations apply) Candidates who do not pass the dysrhythmia or sterile technique exam within two attempts will be ineligible for assignments with this health system for 6 months Requirements Active AZ or compact RN license required at time of consideration; pending licenses are not accepted Minimum of 2 years of RN experience Current ACLS and BLS certifications required Experience required in reading basic tele strips, caring for CVA and TIA patients, and total joint replacement cases Cerner EMR experience recommended due to limited orientation time Must successfully pass a dysrhythmia exam prior to assignment Must not have been employed by any CommonSpirit-affiliated facility (including CHI or Dignity) within the past year Must live at least 50 miles from the facility Benefits High Pay and Bonuses Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance with Day 1 Options 401(k) Plan Weekly Payroll Deposit Free Online CEUs Generous Housing Allowance Travel and Licensure Reimbursements Non-taxed Per Diem and Subsidy Traveler Rewards and Discounts American Traveler Job ID P-618434.
