A day on second shift in Forest, MS
As our Ammonia Refrigeration Operations Supervisor in Forest, MS, you’ll guide a 15-person team through the second shift, keeping critical ammonia refrigeration assets running safely and efficiently. You’ll set the pace for maintenance excellence, champion a Safety First mindset, and make smart, data-informed decisions that reduce downtime and extend equipment life.
What you’ll do
- Direct daily maintenance activity for ammonia refrigeration and related utilities to sustain optimal performance.
- Coach and develop a team of 15 refrigeration technicians to improve capability, productivity, and ownership.
- Design and execute preventive and predictive maintenance plans to minimize unplanned outages and maximize asset life.
- Perform routine system inspections to surface maintenance needs and proactively address safety hazards.
- Own maintenance budgeting and expense tracking to ensure cost-effective operations.
- Coordinate work with external contractors and vendors for specialized services and projects.
- Maintain precise records of work orders, repairs, and parts inventory.
- Ensure full compliance with safety regulations and company policies; model a Safety First culture on every task.
What you bring
Proven ability to lead, direct, evaluate, and train a team of 15 refrigeration technicians.Track record of measuring, monitoring, and reducing downtime using structured problem solving.Hands-on skill diagnosing issues and directing or assisting with repairs.Demonstrated commitment to Safety First and the ability to reinforce safe work practices across the team.Experience creating and sustaining an effective preventive maintenance program for plant equipment.Education beyond high school (vocational training and / or college coursework).3+ years of experience in industrial refrigeration, including ammonia systems.Basic computer literacy (checking email, entering data into templates, and creating simple queries).Willingness to travel 1–5 times per year.Supervisory experience overseeing personnel performing similar and related tasks.Technical strengths
