Unit Overview :
Join our 24-bed Neurosurgical Unit , where you'll care for a diverse and complex patient population, including :
Post-operative craniotomies for bleed evacuation, AVMs, and tumor resections.Cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine surgeries.Patients experiencing hemorrhagic and ischemic strokes as part of our Comprehensive Stroke Program.A high volume of cervical and spinal surgery patients, along with medical overflow cases.As part of the Aurora Neuroscience Innovation Institute (ANII) , our unit provides opportunities to engage with the latest neurosurgical techniques and technologies.

Registered Nurse license issued by the state of practice.Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Providers certification from the American Heart Association.Education Required :
Completion of an accredited or approved program in Nursing.Experience Required :
Typically requires 1 year of clinical nursing experience.Knowledge, Skills & Abilities Required :

Must be able to sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, reach, and twist throughout the workday.Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist and carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance.Must be able to push / pull with 30 lbs of force and perform sliding transfers of 150 lbs with assistance.Exposure to chemicals, hazardous waste, blood, body fluids, and communicable diseases.Ability to use foot pedals on equipment and demonstrate functional sensory skills.This job description reflects the general nature and level of work expected of the incumbent and is not a comprehensive list of all activities, duties, or responsibilities.
