Associate Attorney Debt Recovery

Overview :
A Colorado-based law firm is seeking an experienced Debt Recovery Associate Attorney to join its team. This role focuses on collecting unpaid assessments from homeowners within covenant-controlled communities such as condominiums, townhomes, and single-family homes through judgment enforcement and judicial foreclosure. The ideal candidate will bring strong litigation skills, exceptional attention to detail, and the ability to manage a high-volume caseload efficiently and effectively.
Key Responsibilities :
Manage a portfolio of approximately 700 active collection files.
Evaluate delinquencies, prepare case intakes, and handle pre- and post-trial negotiations, including ADR.
Conduct and appear at hearings, trials, and appeals as required.
Perform legal research to support case strategies and filings.
Monitor and evaluate bankruptcies, foreclosures, and related proceedings.
Communicate directly with clients regarding case status, strategy, and outcomes.
Participate in business development activities as needed.
Maintain timely and accurate reporting and case updates.
Qualifications :
Active license to practice law in the State of Colorado .
Minimum of 3 years of experience in legal collections, debt recovery, or related litigation.
Strong knowledge of the Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA) .
Excellent communication, organization, and attention to detail.
Ability to manage a high-volume caseload in a fast-paced environment.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and case management software.
