Summary
A leading national general contractor is seeking an experienced Traveling Superintendent to oversee large-scale commercial construction projects across the U.S. This role is ideal for a hands-on field leader who thrives in fast-paced environments and has a proven track record in delivering complex builds—ranging from ground-up retail developments to high-profile remodels.
You’ll be responsible for on-site leadership, field coordination, scheduling, quality control, and ensuring safe, timely, and budget-aligned project execution across multiple sectors, including retail, grocery, fueling stations, and entertainment venues.
Key Responsibilities
Lead Daily Operations : Direct all aspects of field activities including subcontractor coordination, safety oversight, and workflow execution
Manage Field Teams : Foster accountability and a collaborative jobsite environment to keep teams aligned and motivated
Control the Schedule : Maintain and adjust project timelines to ensure critical path milestones are met
Document & Report : Prepare accurate daily logs, photo reports, RFI tracking, and schedule updates
Interpret Drawings : Navigate construction documents, submittals, change orders, and specifications to guide work in the field
Liaison Role : Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, inspectors, vendors, and project stakeholders
Close Out with Precision : Oversee punch list completion and project turnover processes to ensure quality and client satisfaction
Qualifications
5+ years of Superintendent experience in commercial construction
Background in ground-up big-box retail , grocery, fueling stations, or entertainment builds
Comfortable traveling full-time for project durations across multiple states
Strong ability to read and interpret blueprints, specs, and schedules
Experience managing jobsite safety, subcontractors, and multiple trades
OSHA certification or relevant jobsite safety training preferred
Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills
