We are looking for individual to join our client’s team as a Bilingual Pharmacist. This position is responsible for the preparation, compounding, and dispensing of medications to hospital inpatients in accordance with established policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
Responsibilities
- Review and verify physician orders for accuracy, dosage, interactions, and therapeutic appropriateness.
- Prepare, compound, and dispense medications, including sterile IV admixtures, according to established hospital procedures.
- Monitor and adjust medication therapies based on patient condition, lab results, and clinical response.
- Provide drug information and consultation to medical and nursing staff regarding appropriate medication use.
- Maintain accurate records for controlled substances and ensure compliance with state, federal, and institutional regulations.
- Participate in interdisciplinary rounds and contribute to clinical decision-making.
- Support medication safety initiatives and assist in the development of pharmacy policies and procedures.
- Utilize the pharmacy dispensing system and EMR for documentation and verification of medication orders.
- Ensure continuous quality improvement in inpatient medication processes.
Qualifications
Minimum Degree Required : Bachelor’s degree or higher in Pharmacy.Valid license to practice as a pharmacist issued by NYSED, Primary Source Verification required.Required Skills
1 year Pharmacist experience.Preferred Skills
Experience in an inpatient or hospital pharmacy setting.Familiarity with pharmacy dispensing systems.Experience in sterile processing and IV room procedures.Knowledge of Electronic Medical Record (EMR) systems.Spanish preferred.Pay range and compensation package
Schedule Notes : A schedule will be discussed during an interview. (5) 8-hour shifts per week; weekends required – closed on Sunday.
